Private Lesson Terms & Conditions

Academy of Movement

These Terms & Conditions apply to all private lessons booked with Academy of Movement. By booking a private lesson, you agree to the following:

1. Booking & Payment

1.1. All private lessons require a £5 non-refundable deposit to secure the booking.
1.2. The outstanding balance of £30 (cash only) must be paid in full and upfront before the lesson begins.
1.3. Sessions will not take place unless full payment is received.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

2.1. The £5 deposit is non-refundable in all cases.
2.2. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in the full lesson fee being charged at the discretion of Academy of Movement.
2.3. If Academy of Movement cancels a session, an alternative date/time will be offered or the deposit will be refunded.

3. Session Conditions

3.1. Private lessons are normally 45 minutes in duration, unless otherwise agreed.
3.2. Parents/guardians may be invited to watch a private lesson, however this is subject to space, health & safety, and coach discretion.
3.3. Lessons will finish at the scheduled time, regardless of a late start due to the student’s arrival.

4. Attendance & Lateness

4.1. Students should arrive at least 5 minutes early to prepare for their session.
4.2. If a student is more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, the session may be cancelled and the payment forfeited.
4.3. Time lost due to lateness will not be made up.

5. Health & Safety

5.1. Students must wear appropriate clothing (no jewellery, zips, or unsuitable footwear).
5.2. A warm-up will be included in the session. If the student misses the warm-up due to lateness, some skills may not be attempted for safety reasons.
5.3. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring the student is fit, healthy, and able to participate.
5.4. All sessions will be delivered in line with Academy of Movement’s safeguarding and health & safety policies.

6. Conduct & Behaviour

6.1. Respectful behaviour is expected at all times from students, parents, and guardians.
6.2. Disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful behaviour may result in the session being stopped without refund.

7. Liability

7.1. Academy of Movement and its instructors will take all reasonable steps to ensure a safe learning environment.
7.2. Participation in physical activities involves risk. By booking, parents/guardians accept responsibility for any injuries sustained except in cases of proven negligence.

8. Non-Transferable

8.1. Private lessons are booked for the named student only and cannot be transferred to another person without prior agreement.

9. Agreement

By booking and attending a private lesson, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
